About Eleanor
From figuring out the rollercoaster of my menstrual cycle, to navigating a maze of contraceptive options - I learned hard and fast that the world we live in doesn’t prioritise women’s health.
I’m fiercely passionate about the right to health education and body literacy, with a core focus on menstrual and reproductive health. Much of my work centres on radical sharing: the power of storytelling to overcome stigma.
My social science background, combined with my expert knowledge of women’s health, allows me to think critically about the structures that shape our well-being. I can visualise and communicate the big picture, whilst also translating the technical details.
When I’m not ranting and writing about women’s health, you can find me in the mountains - a love affair that began in the UK Lake District and flourishes today in the mighty ranges of New Zealand.
My Journey
I’m always fascinated to hear about other people’s journeys into women’s health.
It’s usually a powerful mix of professional interest and personal experience: dosed with a strong sense of injustice and the drive to do something about it.
So, here’s mine.

My BA in Social Anthropology from The London School of Economics & Political Science equips me with the critical thinking skills to analyse differences in belief and behaviour at a global level. Here, I found a passion for sex and gender studies - going on to write my dissertation on the impacts of inadequate sex education on women cross-culturally.
-
My time volunteering as Advocacy Assistant for period poverty charity, Irise International, was my first step into the world of women's health. The more I learnt about the impact of stigma surrounding periods, the more I knew I wanted to create change. I was given incredible opportunities to develop campaign materials and social media content, as well as leading a group of volunteers in the development of a peer-led menstrual education programme for UK schools.
-
I spent every spare moment during the 2020 lockdown delving into the world of women's health and FemTech: researching, interviewing founders and volunteering for startups. I was particularly proud to support The Lowdown in their early research on contraceptive access and usage across Europe and the US.
-
My MSc in Women's Health with University College London transformed my raw passion into expert knowledge. I analysed women's health across the lifecourse - from medical, social, political and legal perspectives. It was a multidisciplinary journey that focused on all the (many, many) opportunities for improvement in women's health.
-
My time as a market researcher focused on social media listening: analysing patient conversations online and translating them into actionable insights for clients across the healthcare industry. Patient advocacy and the ability to distill large amounts of information remain central to my work today.
-
My paper evaluating the Reproductive Autonomy Scale for use in the UK was published in the British Medical Journal: Sexual & Reproductive Health in 2023. A challenging but incredibly rewarding project, I thrived working to understand the intricacies of reproductive autonomy and the factors that shape it.

The more I engaged in the world of women's health, the more I realised I had a unique set of skills and experience that I could use to support brands in this space. I became dedicated to helping them share their mission and build communities with direct, relatable and shame-free content.
